When we generously offer the Beauty we create from the West, to our goals dreams and desires we have come full circle. By generously I mean without attachment to a “return on our investment”, without thought of fairness, or acknowledgement. I think of releasing a balloon to the blue sky to be carried on the wind, or the message in a bottle released to the ocean current, or to the graduating student that we release from our mentorship, or to releasing a child to adulthood or a loved one to the mystery we call death. We have created Beauty on the Circle of Life and we release our tenacious grasp on the creation and surrender it into the greater Wisdom of Life. This happens in the North on the Circle of Life. The place of Winter, of Night time, of Elder hood.
When we surrender to the North, the place of the Give Away, we can rest in the thought that all is as it naturally needs to be. We freely and with a generous spirit offer our gifts and talents to all our relations. We give thought to Love rather than “What’s in it for me”. We relax into receiving the benefit of our generosity. We are free to expand into healing. We are free to recognize our commitment and we are free to celebrate abundance. The Spirit of Gratitude is a dear companion to the Spirit of Generosity and we are in right relationship, as the Buddha says, with our experience of life. This brings a smile to my face because the trust that is generated in the Give Away is light hearted and joyful.
Remember, these gifts are precious. By releasing our gifts of creation, of experience, of forgiveness, of our joy, our love, our pain, our sorrows, our dreams… to the Circle of Life we experience the spaciousness we talked about in the West. We are ready to receive the gifts of Beauty from others and we are now ready to Gather Information anew, refreshed by the promise of possibility that is inherent in the Circle of Life.
